LOS ANGELES: Faraday Future, the electric-vehicle company, is launching nine robots. 

The online launch event on September 19 will feature humanoids, four-legged robots and mobile manipulators. It will also be accepting orders for its $89,900 All-New Futurist humanoid. 

Moving beyond electric vehicles, Faraday Future is now targeting a broader market with tech designed for schools, research, security, and inspections. 

Faraday Future has not named the nine machines, disclosed their prices, or said when customers can expect deliveries. It has also not confirmed how many robots will be available to order immediately after the presentation. 

Faraday Future said the expanded portfolio will give it the widest range of robot forms, sizes and models among U.S. robotics companies, although it did not provide evidence to support that comparison. 

Faraday Future first showed the humanoid in June at the Automate trade show in Chicago, but Sept. 19 marks the point when customers can begin placing orders. 

Faraday Future sold and shipped 158 robots in August, bringing the total to 552 units since deliveries began in February, according to Founder and Global CEO YT Jia said. 

The company wants to sell more than 2,000 robots this year. 

On Sept. 19, the company will show how much bigger it wants that business to become.
