LG Electronics Creates New Robotics Business Center Under the CEO

You may not have imagined it, but it is true that robots are now being assigned roles. Sounds interesting? Yes, you heard it right. LG Electronics is taking this big step towards the robotics business. They have created a new Robotics Business Center that will report directly to the CEO.

This new center will bring together the major parts of the robotics business. This includes product development, manufacturing, in addition to sales and commercialization, all under the control of one team.

The company is very hopeful about this new setup. They believe that it will help them manage various things in an efficient manner and faster. Instead of overseeing various departments separately, this new model will make it easier to manage robot projects.

Reports say that Song Si-yong will lead this new Robotics Business Center. He previously worked at LG’s Production Engineering Research Institute. Song was responsible for performing various tasks there, such as improving manufacturing and smart factory technologies.

LG says that 2026 is very important for them in laying down the foundation of their robotics business. The company says that it has plans to make its products better and prepare for growth before expanding further.

The company plans to grow through three channels. The first one is the Robotics Business Center. That will be responsible for handling the robots that are made for home use. The second one is Robostar, which is a subsidiary of LG. Industrial robots will be managed through them. Bear Robotics will develop commercial robots like those used in hotels, offices, etc.

LG is doing its best to expand its robotics business, so how can it forget about Physical AI? Yes, this time they are also working with NVIDIA to build an AI factory. It is designed for Physical AI. This AI factory will do everything related to physical AI development. For example, it will provide the data and computing power required to train and operate robots.

So, what does all that mean? The creation of the Robotics Center and LG’s partnership with NVIDIA show that LG is well aware of what’s coming next. They are preparing their business and technology well for the future of robotics. The company is very hopeful that this new system, where robotics teams work together along with the addition of AI infrastructure, will help them speed things up. They will be able to develop and deploy new robotic products more efficiently and quickly.

Many technology companies are making similar changes as robots become a larger part of their business. Creating a dedicated robotics division allows companies to make faster decisions and respond more quickly to customer needs. LG’s latest move shows that it wants robotics to become one of its major growth businesses in the coming years.
