Qiyuan Claims 20-Fold Daily Robot Production Jump in One Month

The Chinese consumer robot maker credits automotive manufacturing expertise, semi-automated assembly and improved supply chain management for its production increase.

SHANGHAI -- Chinese consumer robotics firm Qiyuan Robotics claims that within one month since the start of production, its production capacity has risen by almost 20 times, from 10 to over 200 robots per day.

The company reported Oct. 25 that its 5,000th personal robot went into production. Gao Quanzhong, president of Qiyuan, noted that the factory produces one robot every 2.5 minutes now.

Qiyuan believes that the boost is possible due to standardized manufacturing processes, semi-automatic assembly line, automatic calibration and better logistics.

An important factor of this growth is cooperation with Huguang Automotive Electronics, a Chinese firm that manufactures automotive wiring harnesses and electronic components.

On July 30, Quanneng Embodied Intelligence Technology (Suzhou), a subsidiary of Huguang, signed an agreement on cooperation in production line with Swancor Advanced Materials, the parent company of Qiyuan Robotics.

This deal covers robot assembly, special wiring harnesses and manufacturing process development. The cooperation has allowed Qiyuan to apply already established practices of automotive industry such as parts traceability and quality control systems, according to Huguang.

Along with that, Qiyuan introduced semi-automatic assembly lines, automated calibration and digital system for monitoring raw material and products through the entire manufacturing process.
The producer started selling the Q1 and T1 consumer robots on Sept. 20. The robots are intended for such areas as education, entertainment, and interaction at home, providing functions like talks, programming activities, games, and camera-guided following. Sales figures have not been announced yet.

Swancor issued a notice on the stock market on Oct. 26, saying that its consumer robotics operation is still in the ramp-up and commercial validation phase. The company expressed doubts whether it would be able to achieve large-scale manufacturing and sales, and said it could not estimate the business's impact on revenues in 2026.
