About the R1 Edu

The Unitree R1 EDU is the research and education edition of Unitree Robotics' compact humanoid platform. Designed for universities, robotics laboratories, and AI developers, it provides full secondary development support, open joint and sensor interfaces, ROS-compatible simulation workflows, and optional NVIDIA Jetson Orin AI computing. Compared with the standard R1, the EDU edition enables researchers to develop custom perception, navigation, locomotion, and manipulation algorithms while maintaining the same lightweight humanoid platform.
