NEURA Wants to Give Hundreds of Cleaning Robots a Smarter Brain
NEURA says its ADLATUS deal would add hundreds of route-based machines, but the proposed AI upgrade has no announced trial or release date.

METZINGEN, Germany — NEURA Robotics based in Germany wants to turn ADLATUS cleaning robots from route-following machines into systems that can recognize dirt, respond to changing conditions and decide how to clean. The company outlined the plan as its mobile robotics subsidiary announced it is acquiring all shares in the Ulm-based manufacturer.
The companies did not disclose the purchase price, a closing timetable, or other transaction terms.
NEURA says ADLATUS has hundreds of systems in the field and its own proprietary navigation software. The announcement did not provide an exact installation total, identify customers, or say how many machines remain in routine operation. The installed-base claim has not been independently verified.
ADLATUS makes and sells cleaning robots rather than development prototypes. Its CR700C and CR700D use a teach-and-repeat system to clean areas marked on a stored building plan. According to ADLATUS product documentation, the robots navigate with 2D and 3D lidar rather than high-resolution cameras.
An optional service station charges the battery, drains wastewater, and refills the freshwater tank. The company’s SR1300 is designed for sweeping and vacuuming.
NEURA plans to add sensors and AI that it says would enable the robots to source different types of dirt, interpret their surroundings, select a cleaning method, and learn from operations. It also intends to connect the machines gradually to Neuraverse, its platform for combining robot sensor data, AI models, and capabilities.
Those functions are proposed upgrades, not features available on the installed machines. NEURA has not released technical specifications, named a test site or announced a field trial. It also has not shown that an ADLATUS robot can identify an unexpected spill or independently decide which area requires attention.
The companies have worked together since announcing a strategic partnership in September 2025. The proposed transaction is being handled through NEURA Mobile Robots GmbH, the group’s automated-vehicle and logistics robotics business.
The ADLATUS deal is NEURA’s second announced acquisition in 11 days, following a deal for Bosch Rexroth’s Active Shuttle business, according to TNW. NEURA plans to bring both product lines into its broader software ecosystem.
The company has not said whether existing ADLATUS machines can receive the proposed upgrade or when customers could obtain an AI-enhanced cleaning system.
