Agility Robotics Starts Nasdaq Trading After $465 Million Deal
The U.S. humanoid robot maker enters public markets with more than $300 million in reported orders for its next-generation Digit robots.
SALEM, Ore. -- U.S. robotics company Agility Robotics debuted Nasdaq Nov. 5 following its merger with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) in a deal worth approximately $465 million in gross capital.
Agility stock (AGLT) started the day at $11.38, easing to $8.50 before rising to end the day at $11.51, an increase of 2.2% from the Nov. 4 closing price of Churchill Capital Corp XI, the SPAC that merged with Agility.
The company completed the merger Nov. 4, becoming a publicly traded business without going through a traditional initial public offering.
Agility builds Digit, a bipedal humanoid robot intended for material handling and other applications. The robots are currently working in the facilities of its customers, including logistics provider GXO.
The manufacturer had previously announced an active pipeline of more than 30 prospective enterprise customers in sectors including manufacturing, logistics, aerospace and consumer goods. Agility has not disclosed how many of these companies have committed to purchasing robots or proceeding with deployments.
