Torobo

Humanoid Robots

The Torobo is a full-body humanoid robot developed by Tokyo Robotics for advanced manipulation research, human-robot interaction, machine learning, force-controlled robotics, industrial automation research, and embodied AI development. Unlike commercial service humanoids, Torobo was specifically engineered as a torque-controlled research platform with force sensing in all major joints, enabling safe human interaction and highly precise manipulation tasks such as assembly, tool use, cooking, and contact-rich operations.

Torobo 2

Humanoid Robots

Torobo2 is Tokyo Robotics' full-body humanoid robot for robotics R&D and industrial applications. It combines two 7-DOF torque-controlled arms, a 3-DOF waist, 3-DOF neck and omnidirectional mobile base. Its force/impedance-control architecture enables physical interaction and manipulation research, while ROS compatibility, simulation models and optional vision hardware make it suitable for AI and robotics development. Tokyo Robotics has demonstrated autonomous laundry folding, table bussing, whole-body control and reinforcement-learning-based manipulation with Torobo2.

Available for research and industrial R&D applications; contact Tokyo Robotics for commercial information · 1,615 mm; weight: approximately 120 kg; single-arm payload: 7 kg in the worst-case holding posture; arms: 2 × 7 DOF; waist/torso: 3 DOF; neck: 3 DOF; mobile base: 4-axis omnidirectional; built-in battery; continuous operation while charging is possible; battery operation time: up to approximately 3 hours.
