XPENG Targets H2 2027 European Rollout for IRON Humanoid

The Chinese automaker plans to start IRON deliveries in the first half of 2027 before bringing the humanoid to Europe later that year.

PARIS — XPENG is targeting the second half of 2027 for the European rollout of its IRON humanoid robot. It was the company's first Europe-specific timetable for IRON outside China.

At XPENG’s Paris Night event Oct. 11, CEO He Xiaopeng said XPENG will mass-produce IRON in late 2026, begin deliveries in the first half of 2027 and roll out in Europe in the second half, according to reporting from the presentation.

XPENG did not identify which European countries would receive IRON first or disclose pricing, sales arrangements or expected delivery volumes.

The schedule narrows the company’s previous plans. XPENG announced mass production should start by the end of 2026, with initial commercial use at XPENG stores and campuses before deliveries begin in China and overseas markets in 2027.

The company has said its first applications will be in commercial settings rather than homes. Earlier this year, XPENG said IRON would begin working as an in-store shopping guide at its retail outlets from the first quarter of 2027. The Paris presentation did not provide a timetable for industrial or household applications.

XPENG commissioned a dedicated IRON production line in September. Most core processes are automated; the company demonstrated a robot finishing its tasks and walking away. That event represented an important manufacturing step, not the start of mass production.

IRON is part of XPENG’s push beyond electric vehicles into humanoid robots. The company’s robotics business raised more than $900 million in August, with XPENG saying the financing would bring robots to market.

IRON is being presented at the Paris Motor Show, which runs Oct. 12-18. XPENG’s official event announcement said Europe would play a growing role in the company’s AI expansion, with but the H2 2027 timetable wasn't disclosed until Paris Night.

The European date remains a company target. XPENG hasn't announced customer orders in Europe or confirmed regulatory approvals, servicing or distribution arrangements.
