Toro Expands Lawn Mower Lineup With New Autonomous Model

Designed for lawns up to 3,000 square meters, the LiDAR‑guided mower maps property boundaries and moves between mowing zones without buried perimeter wires.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- Toro announced an autonomous mower HAVEN AM75 on Oct. 13; designed for lawns up to 3,000 square meters, it will go on sale in 2027.

The device, announced Oct. 13, is intended for properties up to three-quarters of an acre, or approximately 3,000 square meters. It uses light detection and ranging (LiDAR) to map property boundaries and transitions between mowing zones without perimeter wires.
Toro says the AM75 automatically detects when it reaches the grass's edge and creates a map of the area. For lawns without clearly defined edges, owners can use the smartphone app to steer the mower around the perimeter.

The system also supports exclusion zones, allowing users to designate areas such as flower beds, gardens and newly seeded grass that the mower should avoid.

Toro says the AM75 navigates slopes and crosses driveways to reach different lawn sections; the company hasn't disclosed maximum slope, cutting width or battery runtime.

The LiDAR system is the central technical difference from Toro's existing HAVEN robotic mowers, which use onboard cameras and processors to construct three-dimensional maps of residential lawns. The manufacturer hasn't confirmed independent field testing.

Toro said the AM75 will be available in 2027. The company has yet to reveal the AM75's price or specific technical details.  Competing robotic mowers include Segway's LiDAR-equipped Navimow i215, listed at $1,599 before discounts, although it is rated for roughly half the lawn area.
