CHENGDU, China — Sichuan Embodied Humanoid Robotics Technology Co. (EIR) has completed a pre-Series A funding round exceeding 100 million yuan ($14 million) to expand humanoid robot development, manufacturing and sales.

The Chengdu-based company secured backing from four regional investment organizations: Chengdu Future Industry Angel Fund, Deyang Investment Control Group, Kaizhou New City Industry Fund and Zhongjiang High-tech Zone Industry Fund, according to an Oct. 16 report by Sichuan Online (Chinese-language report).

EIR plans to use the financing to improve its AiQ humanoid, develop a robot manufacturing facility in Deyang, Sichuan province, and build a nationwide sales network. The company has also started another fundraising round.

Founded in September 2024 by a team originating from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, EIR develops humanoid and quadruped robots for research, public services and industrial applications.

Its AiQ humanoid, designed for human interaction, went on sale in August with a starting price of 98,000 yuan ($14,660). The company offers an interaction version for customer-facing applications and a motion-control version for researchers and developers.

EIR also produces the Skywalker humanoid series and Tianxun quadruped robots. The company says all three product lines have entered batch deliveries, although it has not disclosed shipment volumes or the number of robots operating for paying customers.

The new production facility in Deyang's Kaizhou New City has entered construction, according to Cover News (Chinese-language report). EIR expects operations to begin by the end of 2026, initially targeting annual production of approximately 1,000 robots before expanding toward 10,000.

EIR is also developing its Harness control architecture, which coordinates perception, memory, navigation, interaction and robot movement. The company participates in a humanoid training facility in Sichuan, where robot data is collected, processed and used to train and evaluate control models.

EIR has not disclosed its valuation, the individual investors' contributions or a timetable for reaching the planned 10,000-unit annual production capacity.
