Promise Robotics Lands D.R. Horton Arizona Deal for 1,250 Homes
The agreement gives D.R. Horton, a U.S. homebuilder, access to automated factory production as Promise Robotics prepares to open a facility in early 2027.

PHOENIX, AZ. -- Promise Robotics has signed a multiyear agreement with D.R. Horton, a U.S. homebuilder by volume, to provide robotic manufacturing capacity supporting the construction of at least 1,250 homes.
The agreement, announced Oct. 13, makes D.R. Horton the first major U.S. homebuilder to adopt Promise's Factory-as-a-Service production platform, according to the robotics company. Financial terms and a schedule for producing the homes remained unspecified.
Canada’s Toronto-based Promise plans to open a factory in Phoenix, with manufacturing expected to begin in early 2027. The company did not disclose the number of homes it would supply under its D.R. Horton agreement.
The platform uses artificial intelligence and industrial robots to manufacture building components off-site. Promise says its software interprets existing home designs, generates manufacturing plans and robot instructions, and coordinates factory operations with installation at construction sites.
Instead of requiring builders to buy robots or run their own automated factories, Promise offers manufacturing capacity as a service. The approach allows homebuilders to use automated production infrastructure while leaving factory operations and robotic systems management to the company.
Brad Conlon, D.R. Horton's senior vice president of strategic growth and innovation, said the company is seeking ways to shorten construction cycles and increase production capacity.
"Promise Robotics' integrated platform gives us a new capability to support those goals," Conlon said in the announcement.
D.R. Horton operates across 126 markets in 36 U.S. states. The company closed 84,655 homes in its homebuilding operations for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, according to investor disclosures.
Promise has previously developed robotic manufacturing operations in Canada. In September 2025, it announced a multiyear partnership with Mattamy Homes' Alberta division to expand prefabricated homebuilding using its prefabrication service model.
The company also maintains an ongoing relationship with industrial robot manufacturer KUKA, which partnered with Promise in January 2022 to develop automated production systems.
