Flexiv Expands Into Europe and India With Adaptive Robots
The California-based company is taking a broad portfolio into markets already served by KUKA, Franka Robotics, ABB and other established automation suppliers.

SANTA CLARA, Ca. -- Flexiv is expanding in Europe and India as it seeks new customers for force-controlled robot arms, dual-arm systems and mobile manipulators, the company told Robot24 in written responses.
East Asia and North America remain its largest markets. Flexiv said several thousand of its robots are installed worldwide, but it did not provide an exact total, regional sales figures or a breakdown of systems used commercially, in research or for demonstrations.
The company, which has offices in San Jose, California, and Shanghai, entered Europe through an April 2025 distribution agreement with Italy-based Time Robotics. Its website also lists a German operation in Eching, near Munich.
Flexiv presented its robots in India for the first time at Automation India Expo in Mumbai in July. The exhibition represented a market-entry effort, not a confirmed deployment. The company has not identified Indian customers, orders or local service partners.
Its central products are the seven-axis Rizon arms, which use joint torque sensors and force-control software to adjust to contact and variations among workpieces. They compete most directly with force-sensitive seven-axis arms such as KUKA’s LBR iiwa and Franka Robotics’ Research 3, both of which also use torque sensors at every joint.
Flexiv says its robots are intended for polishing, grinding, fastening, insertion and handling delicate or irregular objects. Its claimed force-sensing accuracy of as little as 0.03 newton on certain models cannot be compared directly with KUKA’s published axis-specific torque accuracy because the manufacturers report different measurements and test conditions.
The newer Enlight arm adds what Flexiv describes as whole-body touch sensitivity. Two Enlight arms form MICO, a modular dual-arm system intended for coordinated manipulation and embodied AI development. Flexiv says each arm has a 5-kilogram payload and a reach of 752 millimeters.
By comparison, ABB’s dual-arm YuMi has a payload of 0.5 kilogram per arm and a reach of 559 millimeters. YuMi is designed primarily for small-parts assembly, while MICO’s higher stated payload would allow it to handle heavier objects. Payload alone does not establish better task performance, safety or reliability.
AICO combines two Rizon 4 arms with an autonomous mobile robot base, placing it in the same broad category as KUKA’s KMR iiwa. Flexiv also produces the Moonlight force-controlled parallel robot, Grav grippers, the FMR 300 mobile platform and the SuuHuu massage system.
SuuHuu addresses the same automated-massage market as systems from companies such as Aescape, although the designs differ. SuuHuu uses a Rizon arm, while Aescape’s system uses two arms integrated into a massage table.
Flexiv declined to disclose prices. It also has not provided regional sales targets, expansion schedules or results from comparative testing against established competitors.
