AiMOGA to Open Preorders for Mobo Home Humanoid on Oct. 21

The Chinese robotics company plans to introduce its first family companion robot in Wuhu, with pricing and delivery details yet to be disclosed.

WUHU, China — AiMOGA Robotics plans to unveil its first family companion humanoid, Mobo, on Oct. 21 and begin accepting global preorders the same day, extending its robotics business into the consumer market.

The company announced the planned launch Oct. 17, saying the presentation will take place in Wuhu, in China's Anhui province. It has not disclosed the robot's price, delivery schedule or expected production volume.

Mobo is intended to provide companionship and assistance in homes rather than perform industrial tasks. AiMOGA describes the machine as an AI-powered family companion capable of interacting with household members through speech and recognizing objects in its surroundings.

The company also lists reminders and long-term memory among the robot's intended capabilities. Those features could allow Mobo to maintain context across interactions and provide personalized responses, although AiMOGA has not published independent performance evaluations.

The announcement does not establish whether Mobo can reliably perform physical household chores such as cleaning, handling laundry or preparing food. Its described capabilities are primarily focused on interaction and companionship.

That distinction matters for a consumer humanoid. Voice conversations, object recognition and personalized reminders can be implemented without the manipulation capabilities needed to handle unfamiliar objects or work safely around people.

AiMOGA has previously developed humanoid robots for commercial environments, including customer-facing applications. Mobo represents an effort to adapt the company's robotics technology to residential use, where products must operate around people without the controlled workflows common in industrial settings.

The company has not disclosed whether preorder customers will be required to make deposits, whether purchases will be refundable or which countries will receive the first units.
